More DetailsOver the years the subtle wear had worn down the original timber piles supporting a busy piece of off-shore roadway in Seattle, WA. It was determined that a complete replacement of the bridge was the best solution, but in order to reach the locations to remove the bridge segments, a temporary work trestle would have to be established for the heavy equipment to walk across. To make matters more complicated, the bridge was located adjacent to overhead utilities and a large historic building overlooking the harbor, and the strictest vibration restrictions were in place in order to not disturb the surrounding environment. No impact or vibratory pile installation methods would Read more
More DetailsWe felt excited to see our headquarters come to life like never before! For the first time ever we opened the doors of our pile manufacturing facility to the public, and invited guests from across the Americas to join us in a festive and fun open-house factory tour. Nearly one hundred esteemed guests from around the U.S., as well as Canada, Mexico and South America took part. We were pleasantly surrounded by veterans of the Industry, as well as new pioneers venturing into the helical pile side of Foundation Construction. LIVE DRILLING AND PILE INSTALLATIONS Some of the biggest attractions people enjoyed were the live demonstrations of the powerful HD Read more
More DetailsMerck Pharmaceuticals provides veterinary and healthcare services for the medical industry, world-wide. Deep in the urban heart of Mexico City, our team met with contractors where they expressed a need to expand one of their local facilities. They envisioned adding two new floors to one of their current buildings, which would create more real estate to meet their needs. The current structure at the time, however, couldn’t support the extra weight they calculated would be added to the current load. Additional re-enforcement to the foundation would be needed to support the new floor plan. Luckily, we were there to help. DESIGNED & DELIVERED We quickly designed an improved foundation Read more
More DetailsWe have done it again! This time in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada. Sask Power reached out to us with a task to repair eleven powerline transmission towers that had started leaning. Some had even begun sinking, tightening the powerline cables and increase the risk of power loss! The shifting underground terrain over time had left their foundations unstable, and in need of a superior design, with greater longevity and resistance to subterranean changes over time. APE’s excavator-mounted HD driver system and Pileworks modular tooling solutions allowed Ampjack, the Canadian construction crew, to drill into the Canadian Shield, the Earth’s oldest, hardest dense geology, and to install high-capacity grouted micropiles deep into the Read more
More DetailsThe air was rich with innovation. Cranes, drill rigs, and leader systems erected like skyscrapers. A new city had formed around a once-vacant parking space. It was a city of the future, and a sign of what’s to come for the Construction Industry in 2017 and beyond. This was Con Expo 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada… and it was brilliant. Booth Highlights Pileworks had joined forced with American Piledriving Equipment (APE) and shared a booth that was set up right in the main vein of the Silver Lot. APE had brought all of their traditional trade favorites for building foundations: real-life examples of Diesel Hammers, Hydraulic Impact Hammers, Vibratory Hammers, and Read more
